Christine Holman, 34, married Marc Bowman, 34, at The Temple, Barnsley House in Gloucestershire, followed by a reception at The Potager on 11 June 2014. She says:
"The weekend was designed to be part-wedding, part-holiday for us and our five guests. Both our families have ancestry originating from the Cotswolds, so the chance to visit the area made the trip even more special.
We organised the wedding via Skype! We live in the US, so it was a challenge to coordinate the details without seeing the venue or meeting suppliers. Instead, we set up Skype calls to keep things on track.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed champagne with scones, strawberries and clotted cream in the gardens. It had rained all week, but on the day of the wedding the skies miraculously cleared.
We gave everyone English-themed welcome hampers as they arrived. The women got Molton Brown goodies and Fortnum & Mason teas, while the men received soaps, Ted Baker tie clips and leather passport cases.
In keeping with our simple and stress-free theme, we created an iPod playlist of songs that are special to us.
My top tip: Stick to your budget! With the money we saved, we splurged on our honeymoon, renting a luxury Paris flat, overlooking Notre-Dame Cathedral."
