Sarah Ivens, 34, an author and former editorial director of OK! magazine, and Russ Moffett, 34, a software architect, had a typically English wedding with a few twists. Sarah says: "We had a weekend celebration. There was a quiz the night before the wedding and a croquet match on the day. We made an R&S magazine with funny stories and embarrassing photos."
"We chose yellow to add sunshine to an English April, but we needn't have worried - we had blue skies and warm weather the whole time. We had a humanist ceremony. It allowed us to have music that meant something to us and our readings were romantic and fun."
"The table plan was inspired by our US home. We live in Louisville, home of the Kentucky Derby, so we had a table plan that looked like the betting odds from the Racing Post. My bridesmaid made a tablecentre each, based on somewhere special to us. The Tottenham one had personalised Spurs shirts and crockery."
"We made party bags for guests, so while they danced, they were wearing Stars and Stripes or Union Jack hats and blowing hooters. Advice for brides? Make sure your day reflects you, not a thousand weddings before it."
