Morgan Gillespy, 30, an account manager and Ben O'Brien, 32, a
company director, tied the knot at Eastington Hall.
Morgan says: "We had a typically English garden party. Being
American, I have always loved the eccentricities of English
traditions. Guests played croquet, badminton and quoits on the lawn
while sipping Pimm's and cider. We had a humanist ceremony in a
beautiful walled garden and said our own vows."
"Each guest was given a welcome pack on arrival, containing a
cream flowerpot, lavender seeds, tea bags, Hershey's Kisses
chocolates, a quote by author John Galsworthy and an information
book with the itinerary, train times and things to do in the
area."
"It wouldn't be England without the rain. At one point, everyone
was huddled under a large tree, but the jazz band was still playing
under umbrellas. After the ceremony the sun came out; it was
magical."
"My dress had to be wearable. I wanted something simple but I
added some drama with my headpiece."
"I'll always remember our first dance. It was to Lionel Richie's
All Night Long. Ben and I started on our won during the slow part,
but as soon as the tempo picked up, everyone ran to the dance floor
and started jumping around with us. It was fantastic."
"My advice to brides: Have a clear vision from the start and don't
keep thinking, 'I want that, oh, and that.' Stick to the game
plan."
