Following his strong performance at Wimbledon yesterday, Andy Murray spilled more details about his big day in April.

After beating Robin Haase in straight sets, the tennis pro was quizzed by presenter Sue Barker on fellow Brit player Tim Henman's wedding etiquette.

"I hope Tim got you a nice present," Barker asked. After a brief pause, Murray replied "I don't think he did actually."

But the real talking point was the dancing. The Queen's Club champion recalled: "we did see [Henman] out on the dance floor, very briefly. Apparently he never dances but […] we managed to get him involved."

And it turns out that although Murray's used to being light on his feet around the court, he too is not so comfortable on the dance floor, explaining that he and wife Kim devised a plan to minimise any awkwardness.

"We did the first dance but we both had told our friends: 'Ten, fifteen seconds max and you all have to get up here because this is going to be painful otherwise'." He told the BBC presenter. "So we just got up and literally, after ten seconds, everyone just came onto the dance floor, huddled round us and it was fine."

While the nation waits with baited breath to see how far Murray can get in this year's championships, we'll be keeping an eye out for more wedding insights. Come on, Andy! OdC

Newlywed Andy Murray is on a winning streak since tying the knot to his long-term girlfriend Kim Sears last month.

After beating the 'King of Clay' Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-2 to win the Madrid Open on Sunday, Andy signed the on-court camera with a few words of advice; 'marriage works.'

It seems marriage really is bringing the Scot plenty of luck as the tennis pro hasn't lost a single match on the tour - that's nine and counting!

What's more, the newlywed's victory last week over Philipp Kohlschreiber to win the Munich Open made him the first Brit to secure a clay title since 1976.

The tennis pro told Sky Sports 3; "It [marriage] has been nice and a lot of people have spoken about the honeymoon period. But we've been together a very long time and getting married was the next step."

Andy added, "I've always said if the personal stuff is happy and under control that helps your performance on the court."

Here's to marriage, Andy! SH

Congratulations to Andy Murray and Kim Sears! The tennis star married his long-term girlfriend in a ceremony hailed as the royal wedding of Scotland on Saturday.

The pair, both 27, tied the knot in the 12th century Dunblane Cathedral in a 45-minute ceremony. At 5:43pm, bells rang as the newlyweds were showered with confetti before heading to a reception at Andy's luxury hotel, Cromlix House.

Kim, who arrived in a silver Rolls Royce, looked gorgeous despite competing with hailstones, wearing a swoon-worthy ivory chiffon Jenny Packham gown, featuring hand beaded Swarovski crystals and a full skirt of silk chiffon. And for the mane event? The bride wore her hair swept up in a half-up, half-down style with a three metre bespoke tulle veil and a shimmering crystal floral headdress. The rest of the party were equally elegant; Andy wore a blue and green kilt whilst the four bridesmaids were dressed in pretty deep rose crepe gowns, paired with either a ostrich feather or crepe wrap.

Ahead of the celebrations, the tennis star tweeted his 2.98 million followers a series of emojis that to show the plans for the day, including weather (picturing sunshine and showers), Kim's preparation (nail painting included!), a church, food, dancing and a sleep icon.

According to the Daily Mail, Reverend Colin Renwick, minister of Dunblane Cathedral, said; "This is very special. Andy is one of Dunblane's own and there's genuine affection and pride in Andy, and there'll be a great affection for Kim too, I know." He added, "I wasn't involved in the royalty ones so I can't really tell, but it's been described as the nearest we'll have in recent times to a royal wedding."

It's apt then that the cathedral was decorated with full-sized cherry blossom trees, reminiscent of the stunning foliage which lined Westminster Abbey for the royal wedding in 2011. The English country garden feel was enhanced by beautiful white hydrangeas.

The Telegraph reports that the new Mr and Mrs Murray are now enjoying a mini moon before Andy returns to the tennis season. SH

Tennis pro Andy Murray is set to tie the knot to fiancée Kim Sears next weekend in Dunblane.

Before flying back from the Miami Open on Sunday, Andy talked big day plans. So how did he approach the most dreaded of wedmin tasks; the guest list?

"Everyone who we're close to, people we've spent a lot of time with in the past and people that we see ourselves spending time with in the future. That's how we came up with the list," said the star.

Adding, "There'll be no celebrities as such, I don't have any celebrity friends so it wasn't something that was planned."

The Daily Mail suggests comedian James Corden might be an exception, along with numerous fellow British tennis figures. But with the Monte Carlo Open starting next Monday, many international names will be elsewhere.

Jean-Julien Rojer, a doubles specialist from the Dutch Antilles, is one tennis pro on the list; "Jules lives there and I spend quite a lot of time with him. Tim (Henman) will be coming. James Ward, Jamie Delgado (British coach)."

Andy added "We invited Kyle Edmund but he can't make it because he's playing."

The ceremony will take place in Dunblane Cathedral, followed by a reception in Murray's own hotel, Cromlix House, whilst donations to UNICEF and the World Wildlife Fund replace a traditional wedding list.

The tennis champion will be at home ahead of the big day, "I'm going to go up to Scotland early and spend time with my family for a couple of days. I'm not going to hit any balls this week. Pretty much everything is done now and under control. I'm sure a few things will come up."

The bride-to-be has sorted out the celebration; "Kim has pretty much controlled most of the important things and I've tried to help when she's asked. I haven't been overly involved but there's things I enjoy doing, I did all the food and cake tasting which I actually loved."

But the honeymoon will have to wait as Andy will fly to Barcelona to traing ahead of a tournament in Munich.

Now, all we need to know is what the gorgeous bride will wear on the day! SH

Tennis whiz Andy Murray and his fiancée Kim Sears have set the date for their wedding!

The confirmed date is 11th April, as reported by the BBC. And the venue? Well, luckily Andy owns a fabulous award-winning hotel close to his home town of Dunblane, Scotland.

The tennis star snapped up Cromlix House for £1.8 million in 2013, kitted it out with 15 luxury bedrooms and installed acclaimed French chef Albert Roux. The hotel even has its own chapel!

Murray's older brother Jamie tied the knot to Alejandra Gutierrez in 2010 at Cromlix, with Andy as best man.

The tennis star lost to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final only days before the wedding announcement. Earlier in the tournament he revealed his wedding outfit during an interview; 'I think I'm going to have both options [mourning suit and kilt] and see what I feel like in the morning when I wake up.'

Asked whether he would wear a kilt in the Scottish style, he commented 'Obviously proper kilt, yeah' to which the interviewer added, 'freeballing?' Andy's reply; 'exactly' - naughty! SH

Will he/won't he win Wimbledon? He did last summer. Will he/won't he ever propose to his gorgeous girlfriend Kim Sears? He has!

We are pleased to confirm that tennis star Andy Murray, 27, has (finally!) proposed to his girlfriend of nine years.

According to the MailOnline, Murray proposed to Kim, 26, last week with a diamond ring he chose himself and she immediately said 'yes'.

Sources said the couple had hoped to keep their engagement secret for some time and have not yet made plans for their wedding.

Murray, 27, who flew to the Philippines for a tennis tournament yesterday, had not even shared his happy news with some of his closest family members.

The sportsman's mother Judy said last night that she was 'thrilled', but his grandmother said she had heard only 'rumours'.

The Scottish tennis champ has long battled questions about when he and Kim would finally tie the knot. He's even been known to joke on the matter, which, we'll admit, we didn't find funny at all. But all that is history now! The couple are engaged and will surely have the most wonderful of weddings.

Congratulations to them both! SR
