Inside Kat Von D's Gothic Wedding to Leafar Seyer

A love so nice, they're celebrating it twice. Beauty mogul Kat Von D spontaneously married Rafael Reyes (better known as Leafar Seyer of the band Prayers) in February, toting matching rings and manicures in an Instagram announcement. Now, four months later, the duo officially commemorated their marriage with the ultimate gothic wedding ceremony June 2 (we would expect nothing less) at the Beverly Hills Hotel. From the floor-to-ceiling all red decorations to the bride's horn headpiece to the most elaborate cake you've probably ever seen, take a look inside their nontraditional nuptials.

The couple, who announced May 9 that they're expecting a son together, said "I do" (again) in front of close friends and family, all of whom met the all-black dress code requirement. The bride and groom themselves also unsurprisingly sported rather unconventional looks. Von D steered clear of the standard white dress, instead choosing to walk down the aisle in a red, long-sleeve, ruffled gown by Adolfo Sanchez. She topped off her ensemble with a matching lace veil and red horns in her hair. As for the groom, Seyer took to a matching jacket and pant combo with silver embellishments. The beauty mogul shared a snippet of the big day to Instagram, with the duo holding hands beneath a floral-lined staircase.

"Still feeling the emotional electricity from our wedding last night with @prayers," the L.A. Ink star captioned the post. "We are spending today together reliving our vows, our beloved friends love, and all the artful beauty we created together, and I promise to share our epic wedding photos with you all soon as well as a bit more of our feelings about everything - as right now, we are both so overwhelmed with all the Love."

The bride and groom's outfits are just the icing on the gothic cake (we'll get to theirs in a second). To match the "en vida y en muerte" theme (which translates to "in life and death"), the couple converted the venue into an entirely red haute hellscape. The walls of the space were covered in red curtains; guests were seated at tables with red chairs, red tablecloths, and skull decor; and the couple of honor was all-smiles at their throne-like red sweetheart table. The room had no shortage of red candles, as well as a massive dome of red-hued florals hanging from the ceiling. Von D even performed on a red piano while singing "Into My Arms."

Although their decorations alone are enough to solidify this wedding as the stuff of gothic dreams, Von D and Seyer's incredibly intricate wedding cake takes it one step further. The glorious vegan confection (which was red, of course) was shaped like a castle, complete with a bridge, towers, and a tiny screen displaying a digital graphic of Von D and Seyer. It was genuinely too pretty to eat.

Guests included model Alexandra Merino (a.k.a. Alexandra Metal Clown) and YouTube makeup artist Kandee Johnson. "🌹It was a nice day for white (or black dress code) wedding...⚡️ 🖤I had to have a special dress for my amazing friend, @thekatvond's wedding," Johnson wrote on Instagram.

Seyer and Von D sent their nearest and dearest home with a custom lipstick designed specifically for the wedding. Talk about the ultimate favor! The exclusive tube is a shade of black with shimmery gold glitter flecks, packaged in a box that reads, "May all your lives be blessed with a million black + glittery gold kisses."

The couple's save-the-dates offered a sneak peek of the gothic glory that was to come, with Von D posting a snapshot of the stationery to Instagram April 3. "@prayers and I wanted our Save-The-Date cards for our upcoming wedding ceremony to be something our friends could actually make use of and hang on a wall instead of just throw away," she wrote. The intricate cards featured a frame-like design, with a gold border encircling a photo of Von D and Seyer on the front. The back included the wedding details in edgy gold calligraphy.
