Last weekend at the National Wedding Show I was inundated with brides wanting my recommendation for tinted moisturisers. I wasn't surprised: it was my obsession too! I wanted fresh, natural and luminous skin on my wedding day, but I was having a summery outdoors reception party so I didn't want to look caked in a cloying layer of foundation. The solution? A tinted moisturisers: sheer enough to look invisible with the perfect amount of pigment to even-out my complexion and enough hydration to keep my skin comfortable (not greasy) all day. Most of them contain an SPF too, which is great news for summer brides who don't want to get burnt on their big day (not a pretty sight!). I spent months looking for the right one, and in the end I found it: Chanel's Hydramax+ Active Moisture Tinted Lotion SPF15 (£29.63). It ticked all the boxes: slippy enough to spread evenly, rich enough for all-day moisturising and enough pigment to make my skin look healthy. Plus it smelt DIVINE! Since then, I've found some other fantastic ones such as Benefit You Rebel Tinted Moisturiser SPF15 (£21.50), Lancôme Hydra Zen Tinted Moisturiser SPF15 (£24.5), Bobbi Brown SPF15 Tinted Moisturiser (£26) and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser SPF20 (£32). The latter has just introduced three new shades catering for darker skintones - Bisque, Caramel and Mocha - which is great news, plus Laura's added extra darker colours to her brilliant Secret Concealer (£18) range too. This week, another great one landed on my desk that. Well, I say 'great', but I mean it looks delicious on the back of my hand! (I'll be testing out this weekend while on the ski slopes in Switzerland). It's Dr Brandt's UV30 Face Tinted (out in April), which has a lovely texture and feels very hydrating. Unfortunately it only comes in one shade so I'm a bit dubious: either it won't have enough pigment to make any difference to my skintone, or it will be totally the wrong colour and I'll look like I've been Tangoed.
