Every bride-to-be loves a bit of DIY

Our Imagination Room sessions were fully booked every day, which means plenty of brides-to-be were keen to learn how to decorate cakes, arrange bouquets, create paper flowers and more.

Balloons make for the best Insta-backdrop

If you didn't get a photo in front of the Bubble Gum Balloons wall, did you even go to Brides The Show?

Woodland fairy brides are the new boho brides

Judging by the dreamy Brides The Show catwalk, we're going to be seeing a lot of future brides wanting to look like ethereal woodland fairies on their wedding day. Forget the typical Boho flower crowns and off-the-shoulder dresses, the new romantic look is all about floaty fabrics, capes, loose curls, glowing skin and bunches of Gypsophila .

Romance isn't dead

At least, certainly not when it comes to romance novels! Our Brides The Show book panel discussion and book signing was a packed out event.

Beware of Bridesmaid-zillas

From the Michael Van Clarke bridal hair workshop to the experts panel and Bryony Gordon's talk, the key advice to take away is to beware of the bridesmaids-zilla, or even family-zilla. No matter how calm and organised you may be, your friends and family may have other ideas! The best advice? Be careful with who you choose to get ready with on your wedding day and be completely honest with your bridal squad to avoid any dramas.

A wedding band really does bring the party

The Velvet Notes really brought the party to Brides The Show and the Moët & Chandon bar with a killer soundtrack of party classics. If there had been a dance floor, we would have been busting a move.

Wedding cakes are our favourite kind of art

Wedding cakes have come a long way since the traditional fruit cake and fondant kind. From metre high sculptures to floral, water colour and geometric motifs, we were in awe of the cakes on display at our wedding cake gallery.

We want to live in the VIP Lounge

Sleek furniture from Great Hire, gorgeous homewares and gift ideas from The Wedding Shop, fresh blooms from By Appointment Only Design and plenty of Moët & Chandon. What more could you want out of life?
