Arriving at Casa Angelina is worth doing properly: hire an open-top car, slip on your shades and enjoy the road that winds high above the coast (or take the hotel's limousine for the 90-minute drive south from Naples).
The sea views really are the thing here and, luckily, all the rooms have one. The Grand Deluxe and Terrace rooms have huge outdoor spaces where you can catch some rays or watch the sun go down.
The top-floor restaurant serves divine local seafood, while La Strada, the trattoria across the road, does a mean fritto misto (deep-fried meat, seafood and veg) that you can walk off by exploring Praiano's pretty square.
If you like your nightlife a little more lively, Positano, with its millionaire-packed bars and clubs, is a 20-minute drive along that spectacular coast.
WOW FACTOR: While the hotel has a small pool, it's worth making your way to the rocky private beach, if only because the lift goes through the cliff itself.
