And here we thought Meghan Markle was breaking royal wedding tradition! Charlotte Casiraghi, Princess Grace's granddaughter, just married film producer Dimitri Rassam in the ultimate low-key royal wedding: a civil ceremony held in Monaco’s Prince’s Palace. And interestingly enough, the bride's wedding-day attire appeared to take inspiration from one of Grace Kelly's wedding dresses!

As People confirms, Casiraghi, who is currently 11th in the line of succession to the Monaco throne, exchanged vows with Rassam in the civil ceremony on June 1, after an 14-month engagement that began with a proposal during a family ski trip. Together, the couple share a six-month-old son, Balthazar, and Casiraghi is also mom to a five-year-old son, Raphael, from a previous relationship with comedian Gad Elmaleh. Rassam also has a seven-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. People reports that all three children were present for the low-key royal wedding, as well as the reigning Prince Albert II (Grace Kelly's son and the bride's uncle), his wife Princess Charlene, and their children Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques.

The nuptials took place within the Palace's State Apartments at around noon, and, instead of a traditional ball gown wedding dress with a mile-long train, Casiraghi chose a short grey dress by Yves St Laurent, more suited to the civil ceremony occasion. According to People, the ensemble featured brocade fabric, which eagle-eyed royal fans thought looked quite similar to that of the brocade skirted ensemble Princess Grace wore to her and Prince Rainier's civil ceremony in 1956.

After the vows were said, the newlyweds headed with 300 guests to a picnic reception in the terraced gardens where they dined on dishes like orange tea and cake, a guest told People. An evening dinner and dancing is expected to be held at the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel. The couple is also expected to throw a larger wedding weekend in the coming days in southern France.
