What bride doesn't dream of wearing Christian Louboutin on the big day?

The prohibitive pricing means that for many it is simply that: a dream. For you, Loubi lovers, we have great news: there is more than one way to wear Louboutin on the big day… And they don't all involve breaking the bank and/or hurting your feet.

We are, of course, referring to the famous shoe brand's new offering: nail lacquers. (And yes, the glossy, long-lasting, chip-resistant varnish comes in the iconic Louboutin red.)

Two years in the making (finding the right finish - and designing that faceted glass bottle - is delicate work, don't you know) the varnish is, much like the soles that inspired it, quite something.

For starters, it is very red and has the perfect consistency for easy application and plenty of pigment so only one coat is necessary for perfect talons.

Some say the packaging is slightly intimidating; topped with a 'high heel' lid the same height (20.5 centimeters) as the designer's infamous Ballerina Ultima shoes, created as part of a collaboration with David Lynch.

Impractical, perhaps. But since when is Louboutin synonymous with 'sensible'?

Aside from the classic red, September will see the arrival of 30 new polishes grouped into Nudes, Noirs and Pops, with base and top coats to match. If you can't wait until then, head over to Selfridges from August 25th, when they will exclusively launch the new shades!

Most bridal of all: the sugary sweet pale pink, La Favorita; creamy marshmallow hued Sweet Charity and a golden bronze Just Nothing.

At £36 a pop it ain't cheap, but a rather more accessible price than the shoes. And what bride doesn't deserve to wear Louboutin on the big day?
