Located 230km south-west of the capital mahé, this idyllic island resort is high-end but with a shipwrecked feel - you don't dress for dinner, and celebs have been known to wander around in their pyjamas 24/7.
The Luxury Beach Suites are ideal for honeymooners in search of a far-flung and fabulous hangout - each comes with a private deck, plunge pool, kayaks and bikes.
Discover one of the many buried paths leading to secluded beaches, or join the conservation team on a nature walk. 'Have you met Big George yet?' is a question you'll hear often and, trust us, a visit to feed this giant tortoise is a must. Then reward yourself with a trip to the dreamy Escape Spa - the first in the Indian Ocean to use Elemental Herbology and Dr Hauschka products, with an array of treatments on offer, from Swedish and Japanese massages to Warm Lava Shell rituals.
Therapist Feli, one of the 'Escape Angels' (and they are just that), will take you to cloud nine and back with a couple's massage on the beach.

There are two ways to go in the
Seychelles: check in at one of the luxe resorts on Mahé and
Praslin, or jump into a propeller plane and head off to find an
island all of your own.
Desroches Island is just that - found in the outer islands 230km from Mahé, the island is the resort. Opt for the secluded Beach Retreats, set in tropical forest by the sandy beaches.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge loved their 2007 trip here so much that they returned to the Seychelles on honeymoon.
The resort is all-inclusive so you can drift from native Creole fare at the Terrace to L'Amirantes for a cocktail.
WOW FACTOR: Make sure you book the Couples Escape treatment. Set in a simple hut at the edge of the sea, therapists are knowledgeable and staggeringly efficient.
FLIGHT TIME: 12 hours.
