Kit Harington Tried to Prank Wife Rose Leslie—Again

But Rose got the last laugh.

Here's something Jon Snow now knows: Don’t mess with Ygritte.

During an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, on Monday, April 8, the clean-shaven (!) Kit Harington explained how his 2019 April Fool’s Day joke on his wife and former Game of Thrones costar, Rose Leslie, went awry.

“The amount of props at my disposal has diminished...I’m aware this is the most "first-world" April Fool’s,” he prefaced his story. “I didn’t know what to do. She has a favorite almond milk. She won’t drink any other almond milk. So, I just wrote an article about how this company that makes her favorite almond milk was going under because of Brexit.”

Unfortunately for Harington, his prank worked a little too well. “Now, this backfired, because she immediately rang my PA, and got her to bulk order this almond milk with my credit card,” he explained. “So I ended up spending 150 quid on almond milk.” (For those doing the math, that’s the rough equivalent of $196 USD!)

We're glad the Downton Abbey alum got the last laugh, considering that in 2017 Harington pulled a rather mean prank on Leslie, hiding a severed head prop made in his likeness in the refrigerator on April Fool’s Day.

Naturally, the terrifying object gave The Good Fight star, 32, a fright, causing her to yell out and fall to the ground.

“The bastard put this in the fridge,” she showed Seth Meyers in March 2018. “I fully screamed. ... I see this terrifying head staring back at me, and I don’t necessarily recognize that it’s him, but I just know that somebody is just bloodied...like in my fridge, hairy, and oh, God, horrid. Horrid!”

The couple, who fell in love while playing on-screen lovers Jon Snow and Ygritte on Game of Thrones, tied the knot in June 2018 with a star-studded celebration in Leslie’s native Scotland.

And it seems the hit HBO show had a special mention during their nuptials; Harington’s brother worked a line from the show into his best man speech, telling his sibling that “looking at the woman you're marrying, it shows you do know something, Jon Snow."
