Because flowers for spring can be groundbreaking.

There's something so special about spring weddings, from the abundance of flowers to the pastel colors to the gorgeous garden-inspired details. Not to mention, it's a season of welcome changes: The weather grows warmer, the days get longer, and everything comes alive. We tend to associate the season with pastel palettes—think pinks, purples, whites, baby blues—and delicate, pretty blooms, both details that translate perfectly to springtime wedding décor. In fact, when marrying in the spring, our general advice is to get inspired by the season!

Since spring is a time of blossoming florals, consider embracing in-season blooms like tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, and garden roses in your floral arrangements to save money and get more bang for your buck. But if flowers aren't your thing, we still have plenty of spring wedding inspiration for you. Keep reading to see what makes us think of springtime, but remember, you can use these beautiful arrangements and décor ideas in any season. After all, we are fans of blooming flowers, soft colors, and fresh ideas all year long.

For a surprise pop of pastel, consider filling rustic crates with an abundance of delphinium blooms. We especially love how this installation contrasts with the church’s more traditional entryway, which is dressed in climbing jasmine and ivy.

If this stunning floral installation doesn't scream spring, we don't know what does! Embrace one of the springiest colors out there with a bold floral installation to place in the center of your wedding reception space.

Your formal invitation suite is a guest’s first glance into your wedding day décor. If you’re featuring one signature flower (or even a variety), consider including it on your invite in the form of an illustration, motif, or even as an envelope liner.

You can’t get more classic than a lily of the valley nosegay or bridal bouquet. The traditional flower—carried by a number of royal brides—blooms in the spring, and as you’ll see, it’s a wedding favorite for good reason.

Find Fringed Tulips

Serve Fresh Specialty Cocktails

It’s always smart to garnish a cocktail with something pretty, but these drinks are especially unique. Flowers are inside the ice cubes while the sprig garnishes are clipped to the coupe with a mini clothespin. While these are an obvious choice at cocktail hour, we also love the idea of a refreshing drink at an alfresco ceremony.

This gorgeous golden-hour kiss is enough to convince us that spring is practically made for outdoor weddings. Embrace the warm weather, the scent of fresh flowers, and longer days to host the alfresco ceremony of your dreams.

Hand Out Custom Fans

Since the weather can be hit or miss this time of year, it’s smart to prepare for both extremes. If it’s unseasonably warm on your big day, these special fans might just be your guests’ new best friends—and if not, they’ll serve as a pretty prop/favor nonetheless.

Decorate Chairs With Green Garlands

Bistro chairs already announce a garden setting, but we especially love that this bride paired hers with vines of clematis. This beautiful flower blooms during the spring months.

Have Umbrellas on Hand

Treat this as another precaution if you’re celebrating outdoors. Umbrellas can be used to shade guests from either showers or strong sun rays.

Make a Display of Colorful Wellies

While we would love the weather to be all sunshine and rainbows, we must remember that April is known for its rain showers. (They bring the May flowers, of course!) Keep this in mind, watch the forecast, and if showers are in store, come up with a creative display for your guests’ muddy shoes.

Set Up Swings

Embrace your inner child and take a swing in a flower-covered setup like this one. It’s a fun activity at cocktail hour—plus, it makes for one pretty photo op.

Incorporate Fragrant Details

For the escort card table, create a flower stand reminiscent of a French farmer's market. That way, little bouquets of lavender guide guests to their seats and serve as a favor at the end of the night. Also, they can look great in the groomsmen's jacket pockets while also smelling incredible.

Embrace Lattice Detailing

A trellis covered in vines is a home garden staple. We suggest translating this look onto a bar to make another statement setting. After all, it’s the most popular spot at the party, so why not make it pretty?

Pair Oranges With Wicker

You don’t have to save a sunny and bright theme for summer. Take this alfresco arrangement as proof that oranges can be translated to the season when paired with topiaries and wicker accents.

Design a personalized crest to use throughout your wedding on paper goods like this couple did on a statement seating display hung among wisteria blossoms. Make it bright and floral for spring, of course, and put it on your programs, menus, and more.

Display Bright Blooms With Escort Cards

Use Dyed Eggs as Escort Cards

If you're having a wedding around Easter, channel your inner child by using dyed eggs in place of paper escort cards. We recommend elevating each with a calligraphed name and miniature nest. Also, feel free to use fake ones—no one will notice.

Attach Escort Cards to Flowers

Attach calligraphed paper to long stems to create a picture-perfect flower wall. You can execute this look in a number of ways by placing the flowers in vessels, hanging them on a string, or entwining them in a wire structure, as shown here.

Decorate With Garden Furniture

A tent is a smart idea for a spring wedding—remember those rain showers we mentioned—but that doesn’t mean you can’t have your dream garden party. With the right rentals and topiary plants, you can absolutely recreate the vibe of patio seating inside a sailcloth tent.

Hang a Floral Chandelier

Hello, spring. Nothing screams ’tis the season like a hanging installation of pink tulips. Keep the look going with a monochromatic vibe carried throughout in the plates, flatware, and rose gold chairs.

Embrace a Muted Tabletop

Soft-hued blue-gray linens and plates modernize this otherwise traditionally romantic look. We’re especially fans of the cool silver tones when paired with warm pastel florals.

Incorporate Floral Plates

When you think of springlike china, you often envision pretty pastel hues featuring vintage-type roses. And while we do love that look, we think this tiny blue-and-white pattern is a fresh take on the classic.

Embrace a Seasonal Menu

Most of your favorite fruits and veggies are in season right now. Incorporate them into your menu—and onto your menu.

Strawberries are in season, so take advantage. We love how this theme is woven throughout the tablescape’s design, from the fruit bundle to the poppy centerpiece and printed linens.

Decorate the Dance Floor

A dancefloor at an outdoor wedding with floral design

If you want to get your guests on the dance floor, try something like this. To re-create this look, find a design you love or have an illustrator draw one, and then have it printed on a custom dance floor. You can also create a similar look with gobo lights or a decal.

Install a Floral Canopy

At this real wedding, the dance floor was set beneath a floral sky, with delphiniums and lupines as a nod to the groom’s mother’s favorite flowers. “Toward the end of the night, our friends lifted us up above the crowd. We could reach up and touch the beautiful ceiling we’d been smelling all night,” says the bride.

Decorate With Herbs

This chamomile-accented cake was as pretty on the inside as it was on the outside. It featured three different flavors (lemon, chocolate, and strawberry) paired with Swiss meringue.

Serve Berry-Filled Sweets

Strawberries are in season in the spring, so talk to your baker if you’re a fan of the sweet berry. It makes a delicious filling or topping for your wedding cake or other desserts.

Top a Drip Cake With Flowers

It’s true that drip cakes are trending, but this mini one is next-level. Why? We love that the color is added in the delicate floral accents rather than on the cake itself.

Use Dried Flowers

Add Real Rose Accents

Embrace Edible Flowers

This trendy garnish is a must at any flower-filled celebration. We suggest adding edible petals to special treats, such as the cake or a signature cocktail.

Give Guests a Seasonal Favor

While we love flower-pressed sweets, we love this wedding favor idea even more. At the end of the night, turn all of your guests into flower-lovers like you by sending them home with seed paper to plant. As their flowers grow, they’ll remember your special day.

Share Your Flowers

Since you’re investing in your wedding-day florals, don’t let them go to waste. We love the idea of giving guests a bundle or even delivering arrangements to nursing homes or hospitals the next day.
