Insta save the dates
San Francisco-based Social Print Studio will print your couple selfies (or shots of your wedding inspiration, if you prefer) and turn them into a pick'n'mix of save the dates (from £10 for 24 Double Squares, www.socialprintstudio.com). It ships worldwide.
This Etsy-fuelled craft has become popular in Australia and the US, where brides have been using them to add a boho luxe flavour to altars, dining rooms and photo areas.
It's time to think past the usual food truck standbys, says New York-based wedding planner Danielle Rothweiler. 'One wedding that I'm working on will be using a food truck with carnival food such as funnel cake and zeppole (sweet fritters).'
'Silver, gold and copper have become increasingly popular in 2015, and will be the big colour for French weddings in 2016,' says Fête In France's Anne Mulvihill. 'From a single showpiece to an entire metallic-themed wedding, they are easy to combine with different wedding styles, and allow you to try different accent colours.'
What better way for guests to ditch their post-wedding hangover than with some bespoke coffee the morning after. 'Personalised bags of coffee are now a very popular wedding favour,' says Larissa Banting from Weddings Costa Rica, who says couples create their own labels and blends.
Giving your maids getting-ready-rompers instead of robes is a must for cool NY brides, says Merci New York's Jacqueline Weppner. 'It's a more updated look, and much more appreciated by girls who have a pile of bridesmaids bathrobes already lying in their closets!'
These glimmering pockets of stone lined with crystals are fast becoming the hottest must-have for quirky US nuptials. Use as place settings (pictured), recreate out of sugar to sit atop cakes or hand out as favours.
'Keep an eye out for event design house Occasions By Shangri-La, which is doing incredible things with 3D mapping,' says Shawna Gohel from wedding site Maharani Weddings. 'The firm recently projected different Disney animation sequences on to an all-white four-tier wedding cake topped with a castle.'
Get a shuck truck
East Coast weddings have been rife with hipster oyster pop-ups (think chalkboard menus, Airstream trucks and a cool attitude). Here in the UK, try Oystermen, run by seafood aficionados Rob and Matt, who'll set up their shucking station and teach you the difference between an Irish Carlingford and a Dorset Blue.
Psst America, get a load of this!
Here's one thing the US market hasn't got that we have…
