In new revealing data from Yellow Zebra Safari's, honeymooners are opting for more exotic locations to celebrate post-wedding bliss. Over 50% in fact. According to the expert vacay bookers, the top 3 locations for safari honeymooners are Tanzania, South Africa and Kenya. A hot air balloon ride over Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya, being the top trip for couples booking a safari honeymoon.
With 90% of newlyweds taking a trip after their nuptuals, couples are said to be happy to spend up to 6 hours travelling to their dream destination. The data also reveals on average, couples spend over a year planning their honeymoon, with 65% of couples funding the trip themselves and a lower 25% who have used some of their wedding budget to cover the 'moon.
With sex and romance high on the honeymoon agenda, as well as adrenaline - which can heighten attraction by up to 30%. But with a whopping 81% of couples rating adventure as the most important feature of their ultimate trip, this tops the lot.
And while 38% of newlyweds are taking a leisurely 2-weeks plus for their celebratory vacation, it is also revealed that honeymooners are most likely to jet off over 3 months after the wedding - so maybe that's why adventure comes first, as they've already had plenty of time to consummate the marriage…
