Honeymoon like a Hollywood star at this iconic hotel - it's where the biggest A-listers call home during the Cannes Film Festival. (Chanel block-booked the whole place to show its 2012 resort collection.)

You'd think it would be the snootiest place in the world, but it isn't. Staff are friendly and the service is exemplary, with every guest treated like royalty (many of them are).

The epitome of old-school glamour, it has been sitting on its South of France clifftop since 1870. All the rooms and suites have marble bathrooms, antique furniture and embroidered curtains.
