Brides held an exclusive reader event at Chanel's Spitalfield's store, so we could all find out how to create the loveliest, blushing, dewy, understated bridal make-up. Zoë Taylor, who has a star-studded portfolio and works on editorials for the likes of Vogue, told us how! Read on to find out how you can achieve the perfect natural beauty look on your wedding day – as demonstrated on Insta-star and soon-to-be bride Liv Purvis.

Here's what Zoë said:

"I think it's important for a bride to look like herself and feel comfortable on her big day. So, for Liv, we'll keep her skin clean with a natural pinky flush and a bitten lip. We want to create a fresh make-up look, with a little bit of definition around the eyes and a bold lash.

Skin prep

"First thing's first: we start with a lovely facial massage using Chanel's Hydra Beauty Cream to give a massive hit of hydration. It's also great as a make-up base.

Base

"For Liv, we'll use the Palette Essentielle in Beige Clair. I love this product! It has all your wedding-skin essentials in one handy compact. I'll use the concealer where Liv needs it and the blusher as a flush over her cheeks. Sometimes, I'd use this as a lip colour or eye colour, too, as it's so pretty with fair colouring. There is also a gorgeous highlighter in there, which makes your cheekbones come alive.

Brows

"Liv has great brows, so I'll just give them a brush up and a slight fill-in where it's needed. I love brows to remain very natural, and this is ideal for the understated bridal look we're going for.

Eyes

"I'll use a waterproof liner along the lash line, give it a smudge and then pat the deepest eyeshadow over the liner. I'm blending the Ombre Premiere Cream in Ultra Flesh over the entire lid. What's great about this product is that you can use it alone or layer it with other shadows, which gives helps the longevity of the colour. A waterproof mascara is essential at a wedding! I'll give Liv's lashes real oomph with the Le Volume de CHANEL Waterproof Mascara in Noir. I think all of Chanel's mascaras are amazing for intensity and volume.

Lips

"The new Les Beiges Healthy Glow Lip Balm is my absolute favourite, because it is such a great non-commitment of colour. I've chosen Deep for Liv. It gives her the perfect 'bitten lip' colouring, while staying sheer and keeping her lips kissable."

Liv's verdict? She says:
"The beauty look Zoë created at the event was the perfect balance of something natural-looking yet still special. I felt radiant, while still being understated (and waterproof - which I'm sure would be helpful!). On my wedding day, I'm hoping to wear something glowy and standout, but not unlike the kind of look that I normally go for. I want to feel and look like myself – with just a little extra sparkle."
