The two met through a friend, who arranged for Agar to escort Temple to a Hollywood party. The former child star wore a gorgeous satin wedding dress when she married Agar in her family's home, although the two eventually split in 1949.

Former President Jimmy Carter married Rosalynn Smith just days after graduating from the United States Naval Academy, in Annapolis, Maryland in 1946. The two are still married to this day and share four children together: Jack, Chip, Jeff and Amy.

1947: Queen Elizabeth and Philip Mountbatten

The two met nearly a century ago, when Elizabeth, who was only 13 at the time, visited the Royal Navy College (where Philip was studying) with her family. Phillip eventually proposed after a monthlong vacation at Balmoral with her family, but her father insisted that the engagement be kept secret until her 21st birthday. The two tied the knot at Westminster Abbey in London as Princess Elizabeth and Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten, where Elizabeth wore a duchesse-satin long-sleeved wedding gown with floral embroidery and crystal and 10,000 pearl appliqués.

Tennis superstar Serena Williams officially tied the knot with Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian on November 16, 2017 at the Contemporary Art Center of New Orleans. The two were joined by dozens of A-list guests, including Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria, Kelly Rowland, and Anna Wintour. The bride wore two stunning dresses for the affair—a ball gown designed by Sarah Burton from Alexander McQueen for the ceremony and a short, feathered dress by Versace for the reception. Needless to say, the ceremony was fit for a princess—which perfectly fit the Beauty and the Beast theme of their wedding.
