She's been rumoured to be the lucky recipient of a Karl Lagerfeld wedding dress, but Keira Knightley's red carpet style turns seriously wedding-worthy with Chanel make-up too.
Attending the London premier of Anna Karenina in a stunning couture Chanel dress, the actress also turned to the chic brand for her beauty needs, and more specifically, Chanel beauty expert Lisa Eldridge. We asked Lisa how to get Keira's look:
"To compliment Keira's beautiful Chanel dress, I wanted to create a soft, pale and pretty makeup that had a romantic feel," explained Lisa. "But [I] was careful to add strength around the eyes so the overall look wasn't washed out against the dress. Above all, the makeup needed to be elegant and flatter Keira's naturally beautiful face."
Lisa started with a flawless base using Perfection Lumière Foundation in 10 Beige applied with a brush and buffed into the skin. Concealers Éclat Lumière in 20 Beige Clair and Lift Lumière Concealer in 10 Beige around the eyes and on the high points of her face highlight Keira's features. After a light dusting of Poudre Universelle Libre in 20 Clair, Lisa went onto the eyes.
Starting with a perfect liquid line along the upper lashes using Ecriture De Chanel in Noir, Lisa then softened the look using the powder shadow Ombre Essentielle in Ebony.
Lifting and elongating the liner into a small kitten flick at the outer corner of the eyes, Lisa washed a mixture of Ombres Contraste Duo in Gris-Subtil across the eyelid, mixing it until it becomes a very soft shimmery silver-grey.
Small doses of pale pink (using Ombre Essentielle in Liberty) at the socket line blend and soften the look. Using the Duo again, Lisa used it underneath the lower lashes to add some soft, smoky definition. Finishing off with a blush of the shimmery pink Liberty at the inner corner and Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Ebene along the lower waterline to completed the eyes.
Keira's strong eyebrows were lightly powdered using Le Sourcil De Chanel in Brun for a soft, flattering effect. Adding colour to her cheeks, Lisa dusted Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Initiale mainly to the apples of the cheeks.
Finishing off the look was a lashing of Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir (and a few individual lashes at the outer edge of the upper lashes for extra length and fullness) and the perfect lips: shaped with Le Crayon Lévres in Natural, and the beautifully chic and elegant lipstick Rouge Allure in Evanescente.
We think it's the perfect look for a blushing bride! Wouldn't you agree?
