With the royal wedding obsession now reaching fever pitch, no more so than in the Brides offices, we had to pay a visit to the Pronovias flagship boutique at 94 New Bond Street, to view the launch of Manuel Mota's first design for Kate Middleton. Manuel Mota, creative director of Pronovias, designed three beautiful gowns inspired by the future Princess of England, Catherine Middleton, which were unveiled yesterday morning to UK and international media. The first dress is handcrafted in silk tulle with a corset bodice and sheer sleeves, whilst the second gown is a pencil line design in natural Mikado silk, richly embroidered with aged silver micro-crystals. And finally, the third design (my personal favourite) a light gown in silk gauze, with a layer of tulle and Chantilly lace embroidered with micro-crystals and mother-of-pearl spangles. As Manuel Mota, creative director of Pronovias explained, "I loved the idea of thinking up and designing three dresses for the future princess of England to wear. Each design embodies Kate Middleton's elegance, sophistication and personality." He added, "this is one of the most important weddings to take place around the world, which is why Pronovias is joining in by creating these special gowns and decorating the boutique to celebrate." What more can we say? Roll on tomorrow when Kate's chosen designer will be revealed!
