Everyone loves an engagement announcement - but when it's a royal one, you can't help but be excited. We could not be happier that Prince Harry has popped the question to actress Meghan Markle.
After weeks of speculation that a proposal was imminent, the happy news broke on the morning on 27 November 2016 with a sweet statement from Prince Charles, shared by Clarence House.
'His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle,' an official statement from Clarence House said.
'The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course. His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his of family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle's parents.
'The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.'

Meghan attended her first official engagement back in September, when Prince Harry opened the Invictus Games in Toronto. Cheering and clapping in the crowd, she supported the prince throughout his speech, marking a public milestone for the couple.
