Try not to exceed three minutes
Even Strictly Come Dancing routines are only around a 1.5 minutes-long! If your song is much longer, ask someone you know who's techy to edit it down. Some wedding dance agencies offer an editing service, including us. Another alternative is to invite your guests onto the dance floor at a certain point. Plan this by asking your DJ or band to invite them, or cue your bridal party to make an entrance when the song hits a crescendo. Make sure there's at least 1.5 minutes left of your song for them, though. There's nothing worse than hitting the dance floor as a song ends. And just like that, your First Dance is over. It'll fly past in an instant, so try to appreciate it while it's happening – but most of all, have fun!
