Hui Xu, 31, married Ye Kuang, 33, at Aynhoe Park in Oxfordshire on 28th September 2017. She says:
I really feel that my and Ye's love story is a fairy-tale. Our families spent many years as friends and neighbours in China. But after each of us left home to study in the UK, we never once met in 10 years. Our eventual first date (with much encouragement from our mothers!) was pure magic... We fell for each other and, of course, the rest is history.
Aynhoe Park was perfect for our fun and fashionable big day. We love the eccelctic art collections and vintage objects dotted throughout the property. And wedding packages include 2 nights' accommodation, which was ideal for all our overseas guests.
Phillipa Lepley was the obvious choice for my couture gown. I believe she's the best for creating a contoured style. Phillipa sketched a soft and billowing design with a feather skirt and her signature waist-defining corset. The skilled atelier team ensured the draping was extremely fine to complement my delicate frame, while accentuating my curves. Each individual feather moved on its own, creating the most beautiful movement.
My wonderful make-up artist handmade all our accessories with my gown's leftover feathers. The feathery dress my flower girl wore was from Etsy, along with the page boy outfits. My bridal party wore Ghost dresses in blush-pink. Everything looked so lovely.
My evening outfit was made by Latin and ball room dressmaker and dancer Lemington Ridley. It was perfect for our Gatsby theme, and looked amazing when Ye and I did our choreographed dance at the reception!
