Brides took our seasonal catwalk shows to new heights to celebrate the launch of Andrea Hawkes' 2018 collection at the Shangri-La, London.
Surrounded by 360-degree views of a sun-drenched London, the 35th floor of the Shangri-La made the perfect venue for a memorable wedding fair and catwalk in the clouds. What better way to herald the wake of an exciting new collection than the champagne of celebration, Moët and Chandon and oriental inspired canapes courtesy of the Shangri-La kitchen.
If the panoramic views over London were not enough, Ricky Paul tapped into his creative genius to design subtly elegant floral plinths on the catwalk. In-keeping with the floral feast, the atmosphere was charged with a sense of spring with the creamy aromas of Creed's 'Love in White' fragrance.' Surrounded by notes of white iris and magnolia, the models showcased the clean line dresses and elegant bridal separates, all carefully crafted out of the finest natural silk - a brilliant fusion of traditional shapes and minimalistic chic.
The stylish setting of the Shangri-La paralleled the contemporary edge that Andrea Hawkes designs are famous for. During the show, guests gushed over the clean line dresses and elegant bridal separates, all carefully crafted out of the finest natural silk - a brilliant fusion of traditional shapes and minimalistic chic.
After the show, champagne and conversation continued to flow. Representatives from Michael van Clarke and Bobbi Brown ironed out all the hair and beauty mysteries that play on the minds of brides-to-be in the lead-up to the big day, as well as recreating the striking runway looks. Readers jumped at the opportunity to personally meet the woman behind the designs and her team, to book one-to-one appointments and discuss their dress-of-dreams.
As the last drop of Moët & Chandon was poured and the evening drew to a close, guests left with a goodie bag in hand and a fresh injection of bridal inspiration. We wish all Thursday nights could be so fabulous!
