Alice Oldroyd, 29, married Tom Bulteel, 32, at Whitney Court in Hereford on 28 September 2013. She says:
"We wanted a venue that we could take over and make our own, and fell in love with Whitney Court's quirky interiors.
The first detail we decided on was the dodgems - we knew having them would make for a unique and fun-filled do. Thankfully the lawn was large enough!
I didn't want to be restricted when it came to choosing our decor, so avoided having just one colour scheme. Instead we picked a fairground theme for the day and opted for a palette of rich pastel colours.
My favourite accessory was my jewellery bouquet. It was made up of earrings from my sister, a bracelet from my mum and a gold watch from my grandma. My sister commissioned Love Bouquets to incorporate them into a gorgeous bouquet, which I now keep on display in our house.
We added our own touches to the vows to make them extra personal. Tom promised he would always be positive about all my crazy ideas and I vowed to respect all of his sporting commitments.
I was initially torn between two bridal gowns - a sure sign that I hadn't found the right one! But as soon as I put on my Claire Pettibone dress, I felt like a million dollars and knew instantly I had to have it.
The cake was the biggest talking point. It had four levels, all in a carousel theme - with a rotating tier at the top. We also had cake pops shaped like ice creams as favours.
My top tip: Don't stress over the tiny details because they really don't matter - nobody will notice them on the day!"
