Tiffanie Smith, 32, married James Jordan, 31, at the Old Royal Naval College, London, with a reception at Claridge's, in December 2012. She says:
"When I first saw pictures of the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College, I couldn't get the images out of my head - I knew I hadto get married there. Because it's the home of Greenwich Mean Time, we felt it represented the uniting of our transatlantic families (I'm from the US and James is English)."
"We wanted our wedding to be elegant, uniquely British and an experience that couldn't be replicated in America. Claridge's met all these requirements, and the staff and surroundings exceeded our expectations."
"I chose By Appointment Only Design as our florist, after being captivated by its amazing blog. The team are so creative and even sourced pink peonies out of season for us. Our colour palette was monochrome with hints of pink and metallics to complement the hotel's opulent Drawing Room."
"Guests were greeted with a hot drinks station - James and I met in Starbucks so we had personalised coffee cups made for them."
"After the ceremony we had a fireworks display in the grounds of the Maritime Museum. We then surprised our guests with a tour of London aboard a red Routemaster bus, which took them to the reception."
"My top tip: Take time to develop a vision for the whole day - I chose my dress first because I wanted it to set the tone. I was inspired by the first Sex and the City film, when Carrie says that her wedding dress 'upped the ante'."
