In the essence of everything that is Carolina Herrera, the Spring 2017 collection was suitably slick and stylish but far from safe.
It was the tiny details that kept these classic gowns modern and unique. A silver beaded bandeau could be glimpsed underneath an ivory banded Mikado ballgown while a polka dot dress with floral appliqué used cappuccino tulle.
For brides that like something a little different, there was a silk crepe pantsuit and a white crepe sheath with a fluttering organza bateau neck and rear bow.
The ultimate "Great White" for me was the dress that was oh-so Herrera in every way, an oversized white cotton shirtdress with a built-in pleated and grosgrain ribbon waist cincher. Perfection.
