What better way to discover inspiration for your wedding flowers than at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show? It’s always a riot of colour with fabulous flowers in all shapes, sizes and hues. We headed to The Great Pavilion at the show to discover the new, and existing, species that are sure to be making their way into bridal bouquets and spectacular floral arrangements soon. From Dahlias in bold pops of colour and dramatic Alliums to blousey (and sexy) peonies and a black Iris to die for – these are the wedding flowers that are sure to be big for 2017 and 2018 weddings. For an unusual twist on classic wedding flowers, we loved spikey tulips and alien-looking orchids. Some old favourites still make the cut, too. David Austin scented roses in softest hues are still oh-so fashionable – look out for palest lemon yellow, the season’s new must-have shade!
And our favourite garden of them of them all, bursting with romantic greenery and wildflowers in a tranquil setting, inspired the poem ‘This Lime Tree Bower My Prison’ by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
