Jade Jackman, 28, married Arron D'Aubney, 35, at Claridge's in London, on 22nd July 2017. She says:
The first thing we decided on was the venue as it has always been my dream to get married at Claridge's. I called the hotel the day after Arron proposed and they had two dates available the following summer. We decided on the 22nd July 2017 as it marked exactly one day, one month and one year after the proposal.
With the theme, I wanted to create an everlasting memory. It was important for Arron and I to organise a day that our family and friends would thoroughly enjoy and never forget. The ceremony was magical and the reception was essentially a rave. Our singer and DJ were brilliant, they had everybody on the feet dancing all night!
For my dress, I chose the Vera Wang Lindsey in Ivy, a strapless cord leaf and embroidered lace mermaid gown. I always thought I would pick a long sleeve lace number but after I tried the Lindsey; I fell in love. I accessoried with a floral hair clip that I received as a gift, as well as the Vera Wang 'Audrey' veil and Jimmy Choo 'Lance' Champagne Glitter Leather Sandals.
The most memorable part of the wedding day was Arron seeing me for the first time in my dress walking down the aisle and then saying 'I promise' during our ceremony instead of 'I do'. Everybody burst out laughing and I think it made that part of the day even more enjoyable for our guests.
The biggest extravagance was probably our flowers. We had a large flower arrangement behind the mirrored bar and a white flower wall installation. The domes from the ceremony then became the table centrepieces for the reception. We ended up working with By Appointment Only Design as Javier (the man behind Kate Middleton's 30th birtday bouquet), came highly recommended by a close friend and he was incredible. He definitely realised my vision and even creatively came up with ways to keep the cost down.
I made the cake with my Maid of Honour as we own our own baking company called Eat Me Maybe? So seeing people enjoy that was a real highlight, too.
My top tip: Even if you have your mind set on a particular style of wedding dress, try on different shapes; as you will most probably change your mind!
