Leonie Buxton, 31, married Jamie Taylor, 31, at her parents' Norfolk home in May 2011. She says:
Our wedding had to be good fun and memorable for the details. Key to this were the gorgeous bridesmaids and pageboys.
Our first decision was the location. My family home worked as it allowed s to prepare a lot in advance. It didn't feel rushed, as it might have done if we'd hired a venue we would only access the day before.
The flowers cost more that we'd imagined. We budgeted around £3,000 but spent more than £4,500. I had wanted an arch around the church door, flowers on every pew end and headdresses for the bridesmaids, but had to say no. I didn't compromise on my bouquet and chose an expensive bloom, lily of the valley.
We found bargains on auction sites such as eBay. They were great for candles, lanterns, glow sticks and pageboy shoes.
The wedding breakfast worked well. One person on each table was nominated to serve the meal, complete with a stripy apron and chef's hat. We kept costs down by providing lots of canapés at the drinks reception in place of a starter.
I had a wonderful make-up artist. Having her with me while I was getting ready was calming, in the face of everyone else's excitement and nervousness.
My top tip: Be organised - keep a file with details of what you have confirmed and delegate jobs to friends and family.
