Jenny Packham's 2017 collection has landed, and BRIDES grabbed 30 seconds with the legendary designer to find out the story behind the dresses (and her apparent gift for perfectly directing a herd of wild American horses).
Inspired by the Midwest and shot on location on its sweeping plains, the 2017 bridal collection blends bohemian beauty with Jenny's signature glamour. Country-inspired soft embroidered wild flowers and foliage motifs add what Jenny describes as an "element of bohemia" to the collection. "I've also enjoyed adding seasonal colours; hazy barley, soft petal pinks and celadon springtime greens," she told us. Jenny's favourite dress? "I love the understated elegance of Taylor," she says.
So, just how did Jenny's team capture those incredible equine shots? "We had a cowboy on hand and a generous supply of apples!" admits Jenny. Despite animals being notoriously difficult to work with, Jenny - and model Caroline - appear to have the magic horse whisperer's touch. "The horses were very well behaved and very cooperative. The stampede moment was the highlight of the day - I knew if we could capture it, it would be the shot of the campaign!"
What kind of wedding does Jenny see the dresses starring at? "A rustic barn decorated with festoon lights and hay bales and guests dancing the night away to country and western!"
