From cosy country escapes to pool-side parties in the sun, your hen party can take on any range of forms. Before you decide on a destination though, think about the kind of vibe you want, the group of friends you want there with you and a realistic budget that everyone can afford. Typically the hen party is arranged by your maid of honour, so don't forget to chat through the options with her and the kind of destinations you're thinking.

For inspiration, we've listed some of coolest hen party destinations right now and what to do when you get there. For more ideas, see our general hen party ideas and hen party games.

Party in the sun in Marbella, Spain

Sun and sea? Tick! Beautiful scenery? Tick! Buzzing nightlife? Tick! If there was one destination that ticked all the hen party boxes, it’s Marbella. In fact in 2018, 15% of all hen party bookings with Chillisauce were to the southern Spanish city. “Marbella is a truly picture-perfect paradise,” says Sophie Jordon of Chillisauce. “But what makes it so great for hen parties is that the nightlife is all in one area known as Puerto Banús, so there’s no shortage of places to go with everything from party bars to 5-star clubs.”

What to do: Spend your day soaking up the sun with VIP entry to beach clubs or boat cruises, followed by a tapas dinner and a night out on the town.

Soak up the spa scene in Bath

Closer to home, Bath is one of the UK’s most beloved hen party destinations thanks to its impressive spa offering, cool and quirky nightlife and ease of transport. “The reason Bath is so popular is it is a charming city that doesn’t have a big city feel,” says Kye Harman of Go Hen.

What to do: You can’t go to bath without spending time in one. A day at the Thermae Bath Spa is ideal for relaxing pre or post a night out. After the spa, head off on an old-fashioned pub/bar crawl – Bath is jack-packed with independent bars.

Tour the restaurant scene in Valencia, Spain

Lining the golden eastern coast of Spain, Valencia is tipped to be a hot favourite for hen parties in 2019 according to Go Hen. Less frequented than Marbella and Barcelona, Spain’s third largest city is perfect for a sunny weekend away, especially if the bride-to-be is a foodie – the restaurant scene here is a standout.

What to do: Choose between beach parties, catamaran cruises or a visit to the natural hot springs during the day. At night, you can’t beat making a reservation at a tapas restaurant. Bodega Casa Montaña is said to be one of the best in the city.

Explore the countryside in Northern Ireland

Picture-perfect, private and budget friendly, Northern Ireland is the perfect hen party region for brides-to-be that want to be out and about in the fresh air. For a more relaxed weekend, focus your sights on your accommodation with cosy coastal cottages and luxury spas in the countryside offering the perfect setting for quality time with friends.

What to do: Located 20 minutes drive from Belfast, Larchfield Estate offers group escapes that are perfect for hen parties. With an idyllic countryside setting (it also hosts weddings), you can choose from a range of activities like clay shooting, wine tasting and cooking classes. When it’s time for bed, guests can stay in beautiful cottages or rent the seriously Insta-worthy glamping truck (pictured) which even has its own a steam room, and is affectionately called ‘Myrtle.’

Embrace island life in Hvar, Croatia

If the classic hen do destinations of Marbella or Ibiza don't appeal, then you may want to venture slightly further afield to Hvar. According to Fizzbox, the Croatian island is quickly becoming the new hen party hotspot thanks to it's sun-soaked weather and beautiful coastal surrounds.

    What to do:
It's all about that coastline! Give your party a nautical theme and head off in your best boating outfits for a day out on a chartered catamaran on yacht. Does it get any better?

What to do: If you're partial to a pint or two, there's no shortage of places to go. The most iconic spots in Dublin include Temple Bar, The Church (yes it's actually in an old church) and the Gravity Bar at the Guinness Storehouse which enjoys views over the city.

Enjoy an exotic adventure in Marrakech

It might not be the first place you think of when it comes to hen parties, but as a 3.5 hour flight from London it's more than possible to enjoy a girl's trip to Marrakech. Granted, if you're planning on a weekend of debauchery, Marrakech might not be for you. Instead, this exciting city is all about exploring beautiful streets, shopping in colourful souks and relaxing in stylish riads.

    What to do:
Staying in beautiful riad accommodation is key to making the most of your time in Marrakech. It's here your hen party will be able to relax, swim in the pool (hello Instagram!) and eat breakfast in the courtyard. Outside, consider hiring a guide to take you shopping in the souk, and don't miss wining and dining at one of the rooftop restaurants (we love Nomad) at sunset.
