I would like to nominate my fiancé, Stuart, as he has been the most supportive and loving person ever. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, aged 25. He never batted an eyelid, coming with me to scary hospital appointments and stroking my bald head after chemo. He also let me get a puppy! Whilst his mates were out on the town, he had to learn to do the housework, change my dressings and cook dinner every night, and he did it all without complaint. He has truly been my rock and has wiped my tears and kept me laughing no matter what. I can’t wait to marry him next year. I would love him to win to show him how much he means to me and to tell him I couldn’t have got through the last year without him.

He might not be siding up to Brad Pitt on the looks front but my fiancé has everything it takes to be ‘Brides White Hot Groom.’ I have such a respect and admiration for him which he has earned through his unwavering determination and strength. Joe has no mobility in his left arm due to cerebral palsy, and limited mobility in the right due to different and unconnected disorder. Despite this, Joe is such an amazing person. He is positive, funny and loving. He is great company and has a good set of friends as well as a full-time job. Everyday tasks (which so many of us take for granted) such as opening doors, doing up buttons and zips, are difficult for him, but the way he copes with it is truly admirable. I am proud to be his fiancé.

This is my gorgeous fiancé, Jon. We had always planned to get a puppy and the week after we bought our first home, he secretly went to pick Milo up. I first met Milo on our kitchen on a normal Monday afternoon, wearing a collar tag saying ‘Will you marry me?’ It was a complete surprise and absolutely perfect. Jon encouraged me to return to studying and qualify for a job that I really wanted. He has supported me in every way possible and continues to make me so proud of him. I can’t wait until we’re finally married in May 2012.
He works so hard as a firefighter and still gets up early to take the dog for a walk when it’s his turn.
We spent the first three year of our relationship living 100 miles apart for four days a week. In 2009 we decided to find somewhere together in Bristol as he couldn’t transfer back to Southampton. It was incredibly difficult leaving my family and friends behind - but he’s definitely proved himself to be worth it all. -

Edmund should win because he really is the perfect guy, inside and out. He proposed after treating me to a Rituals gift box, bubbly bath, champagne on ice and a fantastic meal in a gourmet restaurant. He is handsome but also kind, tolerant and very giving. I don’t know what makes him put up with me, but there is something between us that hasn’t changed with the day we met at university. He has helped me through some tough times and supported me endlessly through a career change, family sickness and moving house. He isn’t a great chef, but he’ll make me breakfast in bed anyway most mornings and in addition to always washing up and ironing. I have a very demanding job but he is so helpful and thoughtful and always puts me first. I love him so much and want the opportunity to spoil him for once and let him know that he is appreciated... more than he knows. I love you darling, and I can’t wait for our special day when we will begin the first day of the rest of our lives.

My fiancé, Matthew, is truly a white hot groom. We got engaged last December after an intimate proposal next to the Christmas tree at our cottage in Oxfordshire. Unfortunately the last 6 months have been difficult for us both as I suffer from Crohn's disease. It’s made me very poorly and unable to work. Matt has been my absolute rock, cycling to visit me in hospital, doing all the household stuff and just always being by my side. On top of that, Matt took on weekend work alongside his full time job so that we could save money for our wedding next June. Even with working seven-days a week he still finds time to be the ultimate DIY groom – he’s currently making wooden hearts for me to paint to decorate our barn venue. I’m truly one very lucky bride to be marring such a supporting, caring and utterly gorgeous man – he’s the perfect groom and I can’t wait to be his wife!

My fiancé Chris and I recently discovered that the venue for our wedding is in financial difficulty and can’t guarantee our booking. We were devastated, and as I writing up my PhD it caused a great deal of stress, making it difficult for me to concentrate on my work. However, Chris has been my hero, tirelessly making phone calls enquiring about potential venues and the possibility of getting our money back, so that I can focus on my thesis. Most importantly he is always ready with a much needed cup of tea. As well as all this, he has just finished the first year of his degree in nursing, which he passed with flying colours. These are only a few of the many reasons why I can’t wait to be his wife. And the most lovely thing about him is that he as no idea how lovely he truly is. I hope this will go some way to show him. He makes me incredibly proud of him everyday, and I want to thank him for giving me the support to be the best I can be.

My fiance Adam is the most incredible person I know. If I had to pinpoint my favourite ‘Yum (his nickname, to his despair!) quality’, it’s that he is the ultimate gentleman. He opens doors for me, walks on the outside of the pavement and always pays for dinner. He makes me laugh every day and is remarkably good at cleaning the bathroom! Our family is the most important thing to us and Christmas is our favourite time of year as we are all together. This past Christmas Eve, Adam got down on one knee in front of a 7ft Christmas tree and 40 of our family members. It was perfect. On Saturday 27 October I will be the proudest person in the world, marrying my Yum, the hottest groom ever.

We met in 2003, a week before Christmas on a blind date set up by a mutual friend who claimed we were soul-mates. I knew almost at once that my friend was right and that Warren was The One. Warren spent five years tricking me by saying that he didn’t believe in marriage. He waited until a week before Christmas to meet me unexpectedly after work and whisked me off to New York without a word to anyone, except my boss. Warren proposed in front of the Rockerfeller’s Christmas tree with a beautiful Tiffany ring on the exact date that we had our first date. The applause from all the tourists was deafening! And the surprises didn’t stop there. I can’t wait to marry my wonderful man who pulled out all the stops to sweep me off my feet.

Nick has taught me to be myself no matter what and has relentlessly believed in me. 2010 was a difficult time for me; I was admitted to hospital and have been seeing a counsellor since. Through it all Nick was my rock, he stood by me, held me when I cried, paced the house with me when I couldn’t sleep and visited the counsellor with me when I couldn’t go. Last month he surprised me with a weekend break, complete trickery - booking time off with my boss and letting me arrange ‘fake’ plans! He took me to a beautiful cottage in the Cotswolds with an egg shaped bath and our own moat. In the evening he surprised me again, taking me to the bottom of the gardens for our own private meal. He gave me a book of love, which he made himself with photos of us and beautiful words throughout, and at the end he got down on one knee and proposed. I still can’t find the right words to thank him enough. He is so special and I am lucky to be his girl. I thought this might be a lovely way to tell him so...

I was going to enter this competition with our proposal story, which is actually ridiculously romantic, but it doesn’t really give an understanding of the wonderful man Ryan is. He’s definitely gorgeous, with an endearing charm and optimism; everybody loves him and he always cheers me up.
Before we embarked on a road trip through Portugal, I suffered a trauma to my back, leaving me debilitated and in a lot of pain. Although determined to do it, with gritted teeth and painkillers, I couldn’t have done it without him. Patient and caring, helping me up steps one at a time, he dried my tears and carried my handbag through town without a thought for his masculine pride. If he was frustrated at how slow and quiet I was, it never showed.
I don’t think I can match what he has done with his amazing proposal and his caring nature, but I hope this is a small step towards it.
