Opulent, decadent and smothered in lashings of gold, YolanCris’s’s
fall 2017 collection at New York Bridal Week was a delight for the senses with texture, colour and shine. Perfect for the high-fashion bride, we loved the structured high-low hemlines (naturally paired with skyscraper heels) and exciting, voluminous cover-up options.
Brides fashion director Bryony Toogood said: 'In the dramatic and OTT surrounding of the Prince George ballroom to the strains of the soundtrack to Versaille, the first model with her middle parted hair strung minimally with beads appeared clutching a sheaf of wheat wearing gold lace – and so followed a dramatic, beautiful collection with a Marie Antoinette vibe. There were so many standouts: from sky blue hand painted silk, to a gold brocade jacket,
puffed shoulders, copper tulle and crystal embroidery. All the elements of dreamy romantic dresses with a regal look yet fresh and young. For the British bride a winter wedding coat in gold damask was an exciting change from fur or feathers, whilst a group of Victorian-inspired gowns were breathtakingly beautiful smothered in 3D florals and intricate embroidery.'
