Jessie King, 27, wed Ben Hoad, 35, at Beaulieu Gardens in California, USA, in September 2011. She says:
We had wanted a rustic theme as we live on a farm, but my planners suggested we use vintage French elements, which were actually much more my style.
We chose Beaulieu as we wanted a small wedding set in vineyards and gardens.
Despite the California heat, our dress code was black tie for the men and hats for the women. We provided parasols to keep everyone cool during the ceremony.
I opted for an Elie Saab vintage-style dress as the wedding was four months after I was due to give birth. Most importantly, it was an 'eating' dress!
We love comfort foods and Asian flavours. The canapés included mini Kobe burgers, buttermilk-fried chicken bites and crusted shrimp.
The biggest bargain was the favours. We bought flip-flops in the sales and my mother found shawls and shoe bags in The Lanes in Hong Kong. We attached labels stamped with the shoe size.
Our budget was £60,000. We came under, despite being extravagant with the stationery and decor details.
My top tip: It is all achievable, you just have to be willing to spend the time looking and making it happen. We had nine drafts before the invitations were right - and affordable!
