Sameera Ahmed, 28, married Jonathan Gill, 28, at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, on 9th August 2015. She says:
It was an easy decision to hold the wedding at Blenheim Palace - we were blown away the minute we walked through its gates. In fact, we were sold before we even looked inside!
To stick within budget, we didn't hire any transport. It felt much more personal to use our family cars, rather than hire any. Jonathan drove his dad's Ferrari F436 Spider, while his father drove the family's Maserati Ghibli.
Instead of floral arrangements, we opted for hot-air balloon centrepieces. Blenheim's Orangery has such high ceilings that we felt we needed to add height to the tables. It was also a great way of making sure that, when it came to the reception, the room looked different from the ceremony.
Our naked wedding cake was a gift from my mother's friend, Debbie. She even learned how to make the sponge without eggs because Jonathan's grandparents are strict vegetarians. She finished them with a dusting of icing sugar and edible flowers.
To help merge the afternoon into the evening do, we hired a caricature artist. Guests loved it - Jonathan's grandmother especially! The portraits doubled up as favours.
To tie in with our hot-air balloon 'love is in the air' theme, we bought industrial-sized bubble machines and set them up at the back corner of the stage during the ceremony
My top tip: If you can, check into a hotel the day before with your bridesmaids. It forces you to relax and really enjoy your day!
