Lily Collins Recreates Priscilla Presley's Wedding Look at the Met Gala

Her hair and makeup was the perfect balance of retro and modern

At one point in time Priscilla Presley said she wanted to relive her wedding to Elvis. And now thanks to Lily Collins's 2019 Met gala look, Priscilla got an idea of what a modern redo of her big day might look like in 2019.

When Priscilla married Elvis on May 1, 1967, in a private suite at Las Vegas's famed Aladdin Hotel, she donned a white organza gown with long lace sleeves. She styled her hair into her signature bouffant and styled it with a three-quarter length veil held together by a crown of rhinestones.

And when Collins hit the Met Gala's pink carpet on Monday, May 6, she was rocking the same teased-up bouffant paired with her locks cascading down in a soft wave almost identical to Priscilla's. Instead of a veil, however, Collins wore a white headband to accentuate the delicate flowers in her hair. The star also had the same over-the-top lashes as Priscilla, dramatizing her pastel purple eyeshadow. As Vogue notes, the looks mimicked each other down to the pink glossy lips and pink nails.

Priscilla previously described her wedding—which was an eight-minute ceremony for 14 people followed by a $22,000 wedding reception—as the opposite of fanfare. "It was all arranged where it was very private [and] then we had our friends join us all in Memphis after that,” she told Good Morning Britain a few years ago. “It wasn't like it is today where everyone has the biggest, the best, the most expensive wedding."

Despite her playing it down, her bridal look and their wedding—complete with a $3,200 six-tier wedding cake, and $10,000 worth of roast suckling pig, oysters Rockefeller, lobster, Southern fried chicken, and champagne—was extravagant, to say the least, perfectly on brand with the this Met gala’s 2019 theme of "Camp: Notes on Fashion."

So it's safe to say Collins nailed the theme.
