On Halloween night in 2015, Jasmyn Wilkins was out with friends in Atlanta, and was absolutely not expecting to meet her future husband. In fact, she was getting ready to move to Los Angeles in just a few weeks! But when she was introduced to former MLB player Cecil Tanner, her plans quickly changed. "We instantly hit it off, so I pushed my move date back to be able to spend more time with him before I headed to L.A. and he headed to training camp," says Jasmyn, a model and former Miss Georgia USA .

Two and a half years later, Jasmyn was home between photoshoots and Cecil invited his family to join them for dinner. "We walked through Piedmont Park in Atlanta on our way to the restaurant, and in the center of the park pavilion, Cecil got down on one knee," Jasmyn recalls. "My sister and her boyfriend were there to take pictures, and suddenly our friends and family showed up for a surprise engagement party!"

The couple have strong Southern roots—Jasmyn was born in Tennessee and raised in Georgia, while Cecil was born and raised in south Georgia—so they didn't look too far beyond Atlanta for a venue. "We wanted a space with personality and where we could be creative with the décor, and we knew we'd found it when Cecil's cousin recommend a venue called 550 Trackside," says the bride. The building featured high ceilings with wood beams and metal chandeliers, yet was also enough of a "blank canvas" that the couple could bring in their own wedding vision as well. Jasmyn hired Organized Occasions to help her create an "Southern bohemian wedding" in an industrial-chic Atlanta wedding venue. "We wanted it to feel fresh, elevated, and welcoming, with retro touches and lots of candlelight," she explains.

Jasmyn wore a classic lace Lela Rose wedding gown but paired it with a powder blue leather jacket that she had customized with the word "Wifey" and hand-painted flowers in the wedding's color palette. "I wore a long-sleeved white gown during the Miss USA telecast, and this Lela Rose dress brought me right back," she says. "I instantly knew it was the one!"

The bridesmaids all wore jewel-toned dresses from Show Me Your MuMu in shades of navy, merlot, and emerald green. "They each chose a silhouette that made them feel the most beautiful," says Jasmyn.

The first look was Cecil's favorite part of the day. "I had no idea what to expect, but when I turned around and saw Jasmyn in her wedding dress I was blown away," he recalls. "I couldn't believe my soon-to-be wife was right there!"

Jasmyn walked down the aisle with her mom. "We've been through so much together, and I knew I wanted her to have the honor of walking me to the altar," she says. "She looked beautiful!"

Cecil and Jasmyn exchanged vows on a Moroccan rug set in front of a door draped in greenery and red and blush roses.

The couple dressed up the venue's exposed brick and wood beams with rich amber tones and lots of candlelight. Centerpieces paired red roses and ranunculus with cascading greenery. Cecil and Jasmyn sat in the places of honor: two vintage velvet upholstered chairs in the center of the head table. "With Southern roots, we had to have a Southern menu!" says Jasmyn. Dinner included shrimp and grits, pulled pork sliders, and Jasmyn's mom's recipe for candied yams.

For the reception, Jasmyn changed into a custom white lace jumpsuit created by her Miss USA coach, Randall Smith of RKS Couture. "It was '70s and Cher-inspired, with crystals draping off the shoulders," says Jasmyn. "It was perfect for dancing!"

One of Jasmyn's favorite parts of the wedding décor was their custom neon sign, which hung over the DJ booth. "Our DJ, DJ Mars, is one of the best in Atlanta, and was the original DJ for Outkast, Usher, and Keri Hilson," says Jasmyn. "We love hip hop and R&B, and he had everyone moving!"

When it was finally time to head home, guests showered the happy couple with confetti as they made their way out into the winter rain. "A wedding is a lot of work, but don’t let the stress of planning a wedding take a toll on your relationship," says Jasmyn. "Take the time to go on dates and treat each other to things that you each love. Remember that the wedding is just one day: your love for each other and happiness should come first!"
