Girl's Engaged

Girl's Engaged

She may be going solo in her career but Girls Aloud singer, Nadine Coyle, is doing quite the opposite with her love life, getting engaged last week to her American footballer boyfriend Jason Bell, after a surprise proposal in LA. The NFL player got down on two knees - the standard one-knee approach an impossibility due to a recent injury - and proposed to Nadine whilst she was in her pyjamas. The singer then flew to the UK and arrived at the Radio One studios with the sparkler on her right hand, before revealing all in an interview with DJ Scott Mills and leaving with the ring on her left.

Another engagement may be on the cards, between George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis. The rumour mill has started yet again following George's visit to her home town of Tresnuraghes in Sardinia to meet the parents. The happy couple joined the family, including Elisabetta's brother and his girlfriend, for a meal to celebrate Elisabetta's 32nd birthday. Surely it can't be too long before the world's most-sought-after bachelor is finally off the market?

Congratulations Fearne Cotton!

Congratulations Fearne Cotton!

The award for the sweetest celebrity engagement this year has to go to Jesse Jenkins, 24-year-old boyfriend of the lovely Fearne Cotton, who popped the question on her 29th birthday after blindfolding her, walking her to Richmond Park and duly getting down on one knee. The couple have been dating on and off since 2008 but became an official item six months ago. No wedding plans are in place, as yet (she'll need to catch up on her Brides reading of course), but we're thinking it'll be a cool boho wedding with the bride showing off her signature style. We can't wait.

Bright Idea

Bright Idea

Want gorgeous low tablecentres with a difference? I've just come across a fab idea on www.diybride.com. It's an arrangement of ranunculus in a quirky vase, created from a glass globe designed to cover outside lights (it's like having a cut-crystal vase but without the megabucks price tag). Admittedly, the globe's round bottom isn't ideal, but to counter this, you just need to create a soft base on the table for the globe to set in, using sand, sugar or the like. For full details, check out this little gem at www.diybride.com/2010/vase-alternative. The idea would work with any similar glass or plastic shades. Good luck!
