Princess Diana's replica wedding dress and shoes have been sold for a whopping £84,000 at auction.
The gown was specially commissioned by Diana herself as an identical match for her bridal gown, made by designer David Emanuel. The shoes were also an identical match to the ones she wore down the aisle.
The shoes were never paid for, so Clive Shilton retained them and sold them for £36,000 to a private buyer.
The ivory taffeta dress was bought from Madam Tussauds several years ago by a private American collector, who sold it yesterday for £48,000 to a fashion museum in Chile.
Auctioneer Kerry Taylor said: "This sale demonstrates that even in
these difficult economic times that the appetite for fine haute
couture is undiminished."
