Sophia's 2013 Collection

Sophia's 2013 Collection

We were so excited when the famous fashion designer, Sophia Kokosalaki, unveiled her debut bridal collection last January, and have been looking forward to her second collection ever since. Now it is finally here and we are happy to 'ohh' and 'ahh' over it all day long...

Created for the modern bride, these gorgeous gowns are perfect for all kinds of weddings - from the grandest church celebration to the most intimate of seaside dos.

"We wanted to create something for brides that was modern and timeless," explained the London-based designer, "So that when she [the bride] comes to look at her wedding pictures years later they don't look or feel dated."

And timeless they are: Made straight on the mannequin to achieve the right balance between fabrics and shapes, the dresses feature Sophia's signature draping for an effortlessly elegant effect.

WEDDING DRESSES GALORE

Sophia added: "It's a very tactile collection too, we used a number of fabrics and different colours to create something truly modern."

For the first time she has incorporated embroidery (the silk matelasse gown embossed with roses is to die for!) and silk gazar adds an instant city luxe feel and true evening appeal too. You could even wear these dresses for a special occasion beyond your wedding, if you so desired. Flowing chiffon and silk tulle keep the romantic tone for the more traditional brides, too.

MORE FASHION NEWS FROM THE WHITE ZONE

White may be the bridal staple, but Sophia has also chosen a number of neutral and pale tones for this collection that really add life to the gowns - including sable, pearl grey, ivory, ice blue, powder pink, oyster and even refreshing emerald tones.

Like her debut collection, the dresses are named after classical Greek heroines and have achieved a delicate balance between lightness and movement that most brides can only dream of. The gowns will be available to buy from Net-A-Porter and Browns Bride from December, but for now you can dream about them here.
