Coming fresh from the catwalks of New York Bridal Week and to a boutique near you very soon, page 33 of the January/February 2013 issue of Brides illustrates some of my favourite looks from the Fall 2013 shows.
There was so much in the new season collections to love and the stunning contrast between some of the biggest and shortest dresses was beautifully apparent.
So, will you be swayed by the glamour of '40s Hollywood in the voluminous corded French and re-embroidered lace gowns of Carolina Herrera? Or perhaps the lavish gazar ballgowns and clouds of tulle that graced the catwalk at Marchesa?
Equally seductive were the antique metallic champagne and silver details that adorned Jenny Packham's collections, made all the more desirable when the hemlines rose seriously high.
I also love the drama of Reem Acra's 'First Love' dress with its giant organza ruffle and Rivini's I'll-dance-in-you-all-night slip of a gown with gorgeous embellished epaulette details on the shoulders and a swag back. Alfred Angelo also put out a chic strapless shift that looked enticingly easy to wear.
And if you simply can't decide which way to go, Temperley and Reem Acra have seen to it that you don't have to, with dresses in both collections that showed plenty of leg at the front before giving way to much fuller skirts at the back. Divine.
