Rather than having a long weekend for Easter, in Latin America (and Spain) there's a whole week, Semana Santa, dedicated to festivities. Deciding the only place we could possibly spend Easter was Rio de Janeiro, Tom and I hopped on a plane. Why Rio? Come on, there's a statue of Christ standing over the city. You can't say that about many places, now can you?
Looked after by the lovely Abercrombie & Kent we checked in to Copacabana Palace. Caipirinhas in hand, things were going very well when we discovered we were to spend Easter with Tom Cruise. Okay, "with" may be a slight exaggeration, but we're in the same hotel so it's technically the same thing.
Coincidence or fate, you decide. Oh and did I mention he gave us a special wave? He may not have had much choice since our noses were pressed up against the glass as he went round the turning door off to promote his new film, Oblivion, but a wave is a wave and I'm sure there was a wink too. So, now we're pretty much bezzies, and no doubt he'll be offended if we don't ask him to the wedding.
Which brings us back to all things bridal. So (soz Tom Cruise) last weekend we finalized the guest list. It took a full working day and was tense at times; we sat down at 10am and didn't close the wed-min folder (sad, I know, but oh so useful) until late afternoon. Painful but over, we're now ready to send out cute gold Save the Date cards via Paperless Post...
