Mums, rejoice! We've found your perfect big day outfit - and it comes by way of Ian Stuart's new occasion wear collection.

Like a colourful box of macaroons trussed up for presentation, the new collection is a pretty palette of creamy pistachio, parma violet, Prussian blue and candy floss coral. Perfect for the spring and summer wedding season!

MOTHER-OF-THE-BRIDE FASHION INSPIRATION

Aptly too that they should be shared with us in the plush surroundings of his new London boutique, The Blewcoat.

Ian Stuart's great success though, lies in his silhouettes; the tried-and-tested (and much loved) shapes that are as flattering as they are elegant.

STYLING TIPS FOR THE MOTHER-OF-THE-BRIDE

The fifties frocks with their sophisticated cowl necks; the A-line dresses and their arm-hiding jackets; the dramatic off-the-shoulder dresses with delicate embellishments and floral detailing; they were all there.

Our favourite are the painterly dresses and coats made from a silk dupoin and Monet chenille. From afar it looks like a painting, but up close it is tactile and soft and shimmers with the gentle irridesence of the sequins hidden just beneath the surface.

IAN STUART BRIDAL DESIGNS

There were also two demin dresses which we can imagine Dolly Parton would absolutely love.

You may have to wait until December for it to arrive in store, but trust us, it'll be worth the wait.
