Barcelona-based bridal powerhouse Pronovias usually reserve their annual supermodel-heavy runway extravaganza to bridal show time in Spain, with an audience of hundreds in the grand palace.

However during New York Bridal Market, under Creative Director Herve Moreau they brought a curated version of the collection to New York, including both Atelier Pronovias and the signature line.

The show took place at 583 Park Avenue - an ornate pillared and gilt former Christian Science church turned events venue perfect for the glamorous 2016 collection.

Inspired by stories of different women with different body types, the collection celebrated the female form in silhouettes cut close to the body - albeit model-like for maximum show impact.

THE LATEST FROM NEW YORK BRIDAL WEEK

Opening (and closing) the show was Victoria's Secret favourite Romee Strijd in a re-embroidered lace and tulle strapless mermaid gown, closely followed by a series of clean lined silk crepe dresses, with cutout backs, lace illusion panels and the most notable with a flowing square-edged cape train. The few bigger 'ballgown' dresses were voluminous but light, with Chantilly lace tops and Mikado skirts kept modern with slash side pockets.

The train was a key feature throughout the show, with the sexy finale gown of what looked like painted on lace (actually lace embroidered on mesh) boasting the longest train of the evening that literally covered the runway.
