The inaugural catwalk of Brides The Show 2016, showcasing dresses from Browns Bride, was a lesson in exit dressing: every dress was as beautiful from the back as it was from the front. As the models reached the front of the runway, there was so much more to come… low backs, button-down rears, trains and appliqued capes. Keep reading for the highlights - and the dresses you need to know about - from our one-night-only extravaganza.

Tony Ward's lace and tulle dress took our breath away from the front, but from the back, it was all about a flowing, luxurious cape.

Ines Di Santo's Italian tulle and silk-gazar ballgown was big, bold and detailed from the front. As the model turned around, there was an audible intake of breath from the audience as a super-low back was revealed.

Sleeves were the order of the day for Elizabeth Fillmore, with this appliqued silk-crepe and tulle sheath stealing the show from her three designs.

Exquisite shoulder detailing and an uber-cute bow at the waist tricked us into thinking Mira Zwillinger's design was all froth and sweetness. But, at the back was a dramatic hand-appliqued silk-tulle cape. We like.

Secretly (or not-so-secretly) love delicate lace? Monique Lhuillier's Chantilly lace and silk-organza gown was super pretty - but still had drama in spades.

Galia Lahav: if ever there was a designer to create a structural dress that surprises, wows and delights in equal measure, it's Galia. This silk gown combined a structural bodice and off-the-shoulder detailing with a button-down back and peplum.

Our wow-factor moment? Romona Keveza showed a stunning silk-mikado floral gown. Large green, yellow and blue prints worked perfectly with a pared-back shape and smooth fabric.

Beauty-wise, Michael Van Clarke and Bobbi Brown joined forces to create a look that was modern yet moody, with slicked-back hair and this season's dark plummy lips.
