The wait is over for Pippa Middleton's wedding dress! The very first pictures of Pippa Middleton (or should we say, Pippa Matthews's) wedding dress have been revealed. After much speculation, Pippa Middleton's wedding dress was revealed to be a bespoke Giles Deacon design.
Brides fashion director Bryony Toogood says: "In contrast to the sexy Alexander McQueen bias cut body-skimming gown Pippa Middleton wore as bridesmaid to her sister's wedding -Pippa - as hoped - looks every inch the classic English Rose bride in crisp floral lace with a demure high neck and keyhole back, cap sleeves and a full a-line skirt and simple one layer silk tulle veil over single row diamond tiara and drop earrings."
Giles Deacon was hot favourite for the top job as Pippa Middleton's wedding dress, so it came as no surprise when she hopped out of a vintage car wearing one of his bespoke designs. Back in 2011, her sister Kate Middleton wore a custom Alexander McQueen gown by Sarah Burton.
Giles says, 'I was thrilled to work with Pippa on her wedding dress. The dress is constructed with a cap sleeve, high neckline and features a corseted bodice with draping to the front and a heart-shaped detail at the back. The bespoke silk cotton lace was hand appliquéd to create an illusion of the dress having 'no seams'. The lace bodice is embroidered with pearl detailing over an organza and tulle underskirt, which has layer upon layer to enable a floor-sweeping movement. It's a privilege to show the craftsmanship that my team produces in London and a real testament to Pippa's support of British fashion.'
