Is it customary to have wedding cake on offer at the evening buffet? We have a reception guest list of 90 that will increase to 110 when the evening guests arrive. Not sure if we should order a cake large enough for 90 or 110. ValView »
Help! My partner and I have recently got engaged and we are considering getting married in Germany. We are both UK citizens living in England, my partners mother is German (his mother lives in the UK too) and after a number of holidays & breaks to Cologne we would love marry in a city that means a lot to us (he proposed to me in front of Köln cathedral). I've researched travel agents or wedding planning companies but no one seems to do packages for German weddings - Please could you advise how we would go about getting married in Germany - what we would need to do, if we would have to be in the country a certain number of days prior to the wedding etc. In anticipation of any guidance you can offer - many thanks. I would prefer to keep such a private event personal and not have it brandished on a website for the whole world to see, or to not have to control over what happened to it. Is this standard for the UK?View »
