Considering marrying in Greece? Here is what you can expect, when to go and what you'll need to know...
When to go? May, June and September are best; avoid winter months (November-March), and also high summer (July and August), when temperatures can hit 40C.
What to expect Whitewashed villages and olive groves
Need to know You will both need a CNI, copies of your passports and legalised translations of your birth certificates, and must present the original documents to the registrar three days before the wedding. You can only marry in a Greek church if one of you is Greek Orthodox. You will need your marriage certificate translated to register the wedding in the UK.
