Vicine Kala, 29, married David Koroma, 29, at Holy Angels Church in Ash, followed by a reception at Northbrook Park in Farnham, Surrey, on 25th November 2017. She says:

I think the general theme of our wedding was 'go bespoke'! We're so lucky to have so many talented people around us, and everyone pitched in to create a unique day.

To design my own wedding dress has always been a dream of mine. Who better to help make it than my amazingly talented sister-in-law, Rachelle, who has her own bespoke label? We created a mermaid dress with an ivory chiffon overskirt which was detachable - for two distinct looks. The delicately hand-embroidered sleeves mirrored the dreamy vines trailing down the manor.

Another one of my bridesmaids, Seyi, is also a talented designer. She designed and handmade my bridesmaids' dresses, as well as my strapless reception dress! My bridal party's gowns were a flattering shade of dusky pink and were finished with a romantic, embellished lace cape, which complimented the gold and dark burgundy hues of their bouquets.

Our naked cake was a wedding gift from my cousin, who runs a custom cake company. It was a four-tiered Victoria sponge, 'naked' because of it's lack of traditional icing, and was decorated with fresh flowers. A personalized gold topper was the finishing touch. So yummy - we took the first tier away with us on our honeymoon and finished it the same day!

We opted for simple, pared-back table decorations. We had classic ivory tablecloths and used large log slices as centrepieces, on which were placed gold lanterns filled with pink carnations, burgundy hydrangeas and gypsophila. We used mini blackboards on easels as table numbers and clear glass (ex-yoghurt) pots as tea light holders. In fact, I collected 220 La Fermière yoghurt pots over the course of a year (my husband-to-be consumed all of them!). My bridesmaids and I spray-painted them all vintage gold and also filled them with toffees as favours.

My maids were an amazing, amazing support system throughout the whole process. They helped with all the DIY details and organised the best hen party. One of my maids of honour, Marho, also does calligraphy, so she helped write our Welcome sign in gold pen, as well as all the table numbers.
